I purchased both the 8" (fits 9") Chimney cap and the 13" Chimney caps. They are the same height which doesn't work from aesthetic point of view. The *" cap looks taller than the 13" due its smaller footprint. The 8" cap should be approximately 40% shorter in order to maintain the overall look of the 13" cap. Thanks for your comments. The caps are made at this height so the chimney will draft properly. If they are shorter it will impede the draft.
